The story behind Skatrium

Skatrium, pronounced SKAY-TREE-UM, was founded by London-based roller skater and DJ, Alan Higgins (also known as DJ AL), inspired by his vision of what makes a truly unforgettable skate session. His motto — Good Music, Good Floor, Good People — represents the essential 'trium' that transforms skating from an activity into an experience. If you take away one of the elements, like removing a leg from a tripod – the balance is gone. You might still enjoy yourself, but the experience won’t reach its full potential.

This app was born out Alan's love for roller-skating and a shared need: a simple, modern, and inclusive platform where skaters everywhere can discover, attend, and promote events that keep the culture rolling.

Whether it's a street skate in London, a workshop in Barbados, a 'Soul Skate' in Detroit or a skate party in Barcelona — Alan's mission is to connect the global skate community through events. He believes that great music, smooth floors, and good people are the heart of every session.

Built with skaters in mind, the app prioritises ease of use, community-first features, and a vibrant design that reflects skate culture across continents. He is committed to supporting both grassroots and professional organisers with tools that help their events shine — and helping skaters everywhere find their next unforgettable session.
